Dubai, FIO, hosts the WAIPA Training for Tanzania Investment Center

Dubai Foreign Investment Office – Dubai FIO, opened its house to the Tanzanian delegation of Members of the TIC Board of Directors and TIC’s Investment Promotion Officers on March 7th and 8th.
The on-line system of corporate registration was showcased, the absence of corporate or personal tax highlighted in view of the services-oriented FDI (corporate headquarters, financial services, logistics etc.) Tenaris S.A. – a  foreign investor from Argentina that recently transferred headquarters to the Emirate exemplified the destination’s  advantage by presenting his experience.  A visit to a special free zone was also organized by Dubai FIO.

The WAIPA training session itself consisted of experience sharing from UKTI officers from both the Research & Client Relationship and Marketing & Strategic Communications.  The evolution of research and client relationship, at UKTI, as well as how one of the longest standing IPAs established its performance monitoring was exposed. The training highlighted the importance of communicating effectively with prospective investors, including in what concerns feedback from interactions recently held, with UKTI.  Oxford Intelligence also made a presentation focusing on investor targeting, and preliminarily, on local sector selection.  An abridged version of each presentation was made available by the instructors.
